Set in the mid-Showa era, a young woman known simply as “Okusan” leaves her countryside home to marry the owner of a small bookstore in suburban Tokyo. But tragedy strikes when her husband passes away shortly after their wedding, leaving her to run the bookstore alone.
With the bustling shopping district as her backdrop and the support of the quirky locals, Okusan embarks on a journey to redefine her life and love through the unique world of books.
